Parfitt Announced as First Professional Signing

The current captain has been a mainstay in Welsh cricket for 20 years before the change of structure turned her career from Wales to Glamorgan in 2025.

Alongside her longstanding career in Wales, Parfitt played in the women’s domestic game. She represented Western Storm in the Kia Super League (2017–2018) and later in the Rachel Heyhoe-Flint Trophy and Charlotte Edwards Cup (2020–2022) where she earned appearances at what was then the top domestic competition in England.

Parfitt scored 266 runs in one-day and T20 matches for Western Storm before her mammoth contribution over the last two seasons adding 711 runs at an average of 50.78 in the Metro Bank Women’s League Two and 649 runs in T20s for Glamorgan.

Her success, not only individually, led to Glamorgan reaching a final and semi-final in their first season in tier two. Glamorgan have since taken tier two’s T20 title already this season with a potential One Day Cup success to add to the honours list.

On signing a first professional deal, Parfitt told the club: “Eleven-year-old me dreamt of becoming a professional cricketer when I never thought it would be an option, so to now have the opportunity to play professionally in a sport I love is an incredible feeling.

"It is a privilege to play for Glamorgan as it enters a professional era as it’s a team that feels like home. We’ve built a really strong foundation during our two seasons in tier two and I am excited for the challenge of tier one cricket alongside what is shaping up to be a fantastic group.”
