Leicestershire Charged for Pitch Against Glamorgan

The County Championship fixture which took place in August at the start of the final block of six matches at Grace Road ended with the hosts claiming a win by 42 runs.

Fighting for survival, Leicestershire picked up 19 points in the match to enhance their chances of playing Division One cricket next season but look set to lose them all as per ECB ruling which changed ahead of this season. Should these points be deducted, Glamorgan's gap to the relegation zone will extend from 11 points to a 30 point advantage.

In the match, Kiran Carlson scored 99 and Leicestershire’s Sheridan Gumbs also fell just short of a century in second innings efforts with no other player passing the half-century mark in the match.

Ian Holland took 9 for 49 in the match from 37.1 overs in a match dominated by seam bowling on the wicket which offered variable bounce. Chris Cooke was struck repeatedly when stood up to the stumps due to its inconsistencies.

Leicestershire have disputed the allegations and responded to the cricket discipline panel on Monday according to a club statement.
