Ul Hassan Will Remain at Glamorgan Until 2027

The 25-year-old will remain at the club until at least the end of 2027, he joined the Welsh county in 2023.

Ul Hassan has been used with great versality in his time at Glamorgan. Originally trialled and signed as a bowling-all-rounder, ul Hassan has spent the majority of his first-class career opening the batting.

The Pakistan-born player who emerged through Worcestershire’s academy, where he debuted as a 17-year-old in the One Day Cup, then was subsequently released, also played extensively for the South Asian Cricket Academy to earn second XI trials.

Ul Hassan scored a maiden professional century last month with 143 against Hampshire in the County Championship – bettering his previous career best of 69. The all-rounder who has played 47 times for Glamorgan across all formats told Taff & Daff last month he's "comfortable" with the role he's playing in the side.

Predominantly used by Glamorgan in red-ball cricket, the all-rounder averages 24.84 with the bat and 55.20 with the ball but is statistically enjoying his best season yet in Division One, averaging 30.33 as a batter and has claimed seven wickets at 48.14 in 2026 as he has taken on a more valuable role in the bowling attack.

In the club’s contract extension announcement, ul Hassan said: “I’m very grateful to extend my contract.

"I’ve loved my time in Cardiff and being part of such a great group of players and coaches. We’re playing some really good cricket across all formats, and I’m proud to be contributing to that.

"Hopefully I can play my part in even more success for Glamorgan.”
