Glamorgan all-rounder Megan McColl has been named in the Scotland squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
The 25-year-old scored a magnificent 111 not out against Kent on Sunday which steered Glamorgan to a 40-run victory and maintains their 100% start to the 2026 season. McColl showed promise in the backend of Glamorgan's innings for her first century for the Welsh county, her century included nine boundaries.
McColl made her debut for Scotland in 2019 against Germany. This will be the second ICC T20 World Cup McColl has been involved in after being capped 54 times internationally in the format to go with her 11 WODIs.
She was included in the squad for the 2024 tournament in the UAE but didn’t feature in any of Scotland’s four group matches. The all-rounder will head to the tournament in England under the captaincy of The Blaze's Kathryn Bryce. Kirstie Gordon returns to represent Scotland despite last playing for them in 2017. Since then, the left-arm spinner changed her nationality to represent England in one Test and five T20 internationals.
McColl earned her fiftieth cap for Scotland in November last year. She last played for Scotland in a tour of Nepal which hosted the qualifiers for the tournament. Glamorgan's 2026 signing has one half-century and 13 wickets, boasting best figures of 5 for 3 against France in 2021.
The competition, hosted by England and Wales, begins on June 12. Scotland will take on Ireland, West Indies, England, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka in their group stage.
