Glamorgan have announced that Andy Gorvin will take over captaincy duties for the upcoming Metro Bank One-Day Cup with assistant coach David Harrison continuing as head coach for the competition.

The decision comes as Kiran Carlson and Richard Dawson will both be away at the Hundred this year, with Dawson returning to the Welsh Fire coaching staff and Carlson being picked up as a wildcard by the London Spirit.

Gorvin has tasted success twice in this competition, being a part of the squad that won two titles in 2021 and 2024. Director of cricket, Mark Wallace praised the appointment of Gorvin.
