“That was an unacceptable performance.”
The words of Glamorgan Head Coach Richard Dawson after a defeat inside two days in a County Championship match. The words couldn’t be truer. There was a distinct lack of grit, stickability and maturity in two batting efforts.
After day one, Ethan Bamber told the ECB Reporter’s Network that he felt as though he didn’t bowl particularly well. It is probably also true that Warwickshire didn’t necessarily bat in a way that deserved a win inside two days either.
Injuries have been used as a reason for a difficult period of performances with a lack of bowlers and Zain ul Hassan’s miss as both a handy operator with bat and ball but it should not be a loss that to cause 69 and 65 all out.
