Glamorgan head coach Richard Dawson implied that there was nothing out of the ordinary ahead of the County Championship fixture with Warwickshire earlier this week.

In this article, I (the editor – Blake Bint) will report my accounts in first person.

On Monday, I reported via X that a meeting between all players and coaching staff had been called at Sophia Gardens at short notice with a match less than 24 hours away.

On Wednesday evening, I had drafted and planned a 1000-word feature article speculating what the meeting could potentially have meant for Glamorgan’s future on the field or within the backroom staff. Dawson’s reaction to Monday’s report – which I’m accounting in this article – is the reason for the alternative story.
