A record of drawn two, lost one after three matches is not the start that Glamorgan fans would have dreamed of when the promotion to the topflight of the County Championship was confirmed last season, but it is one that they would probably take. Right now, Glamorgan sit outside of the relegation spots, albeit by a single point.
The big issue for Glamorgan in their chastening defeat to Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge was a lack of runs and a middle and late order collapse. At Leicestershire they went a long way toward arresting those fears with a big first innings total built on the back of the middle order getting things right. While no one managed to reach a hundred there were plenty of runs, albeit on a surface that did not offer much to the bowlers.
