Glamorgan managed to get five days of cricket squeezed into March in miraculous fashion.
Despite having a trip to Oman, for friendlies with other counties, cancelled amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Glamorgan managed to play two days at Kidderminster and three days at Taunton. Unlike in other sports, modern cricket’s pre-season is about short spells for bowlers and time at the crease for batters (even sometimes allowing individuals to bat twice in the same innings, and allowing for more than 10 wickets to be lost).
What pre-season can help with, however, is to see how the side might shape up on the opening day. Here’s five key takeaways from the preparation for Richard Dawson’s side, as they look ahead to their biggest season in over 20 years.
