As the politicians in Cardiff Bay face a nervous wait to find out if they will take their seats in the Senedd this week, on the other side of Cardiff in Pontcanna, the Glamorgan players might be taking a seat on the balcony at Sophia Gardens, feeling a lot more relaxed.
This comes after they ended a more than two decade wait for a win in Division One of the County Championship last week, thrashing Hampshire by an innings and 69 runs. The win thrusts the Welsh side into fifth place in the table but there’s no rest for the wicked as they prepare to take on a Somerset side capable of dishing out a thrashing of their own on any given day.
