Hat-Trick Heroics Earns Norton Player of the Round Accolade

Tom Norton became the second Glamorgan player in a row to win ECB's player of the round after an influencing performance against Somerset.

Glamorgan teenager Tom Norton has been named ECB’s player of the round after a stellar performance on debut, taking 7 for 136 in the match, including a hat-trick.

Norton’s performance in the two-wicket win over Somerset helped the Welsh county to a second consecutive win in the County Championship, taking them to fifth in the Division One table.

Captain Kiran Carlson earned the award last week for his double-century against Hampshire, making this Glamorgan’s second player to be chosen to have had the most impact across all nine games, spanning both divisions.

Tom Norton said of the match result: “Unbelievable. I was very nervy at the end there obviously with being next out to bat.” He began.
