Connor O’Riordan, a 24-year-old fast bowler, has been named in the Welsh county’s Second team squad to take on Gloucestershire Seconds in a three-day friendly at Newport Cricket Club on April 27-29.

The tall seamer is a UK passport holder and has previously played for New South Wales Second XI and was a part of the academy of Australian Big Bash franchise Sydney Thunder.

In the most recent Australian summer, O’Riordan took 21 wickets across five matches in Sydney’s First Grade competition including best figures of 6 for 57. He also played in Queensland’s First Grade and T20 competitions, representing club side Redlands alongside Marnus Labuschagne.
