Dent Joins Glamorgan as Batting Consultant

Former Gloucestershire captain, Chris Dent has joined Glamorgan’s coaching staff.
Dent, 35, retired from professional cricket at the end of the 2025 season after a 16-year career with the west country county. He will be working with Glamorgan as a batting consultant coach for the First and Second XI.
The stylish former left-handed opening batter amassed over 11,000 runs at an average of 36 in first-class cricket.
Dent takes on a role for the 2026 season which was taken by Jonathan Trott during Glamorgan’s promotion season before returning to focus on his position as Afghanistan head coach until the end of the recent T20 World Cup. Former Australian international, Ian Harvey also joined last season as a batting consultant and is now a full-time assistant-coach at the club, along with David Harrison – bowling coach, and Mark O’Leary – Second XI Head Coach.
