Glamorgan got the second half of the Vitality Blast underway with a comfortable six-wicket win over struggling Middlesex, in the first of four consecutive home games at Sophia Gardens. The win is their fourth in the competition so far as they bid for a first quarter-final appearance since 2017.
Kiran Carlson won the toss and elected to bowl first, which might have taken some by surprise, given the scorching temperatures of the last few days. Glamorgan made inroads early on as Nathan McAndrew bowled Max Holden halfway through the second over. Cricket social media legends Three Bridges CC have built a fanbase of their own and their own Kiwi batter Matt Boyle was in at number three. Boyle pushed Middlesex’s powerplay total just under 60 before he was caught LBW by McAndrew.
