Glamorgan fell to a Northamptonshire side reeling from losing their unbeaten record in the Vitality Blast at Somerset at the weekend in emphatic fashion as Chris Lynn delivered a hammering to Glamorgan’s attack. His 117 from 56 balls spearheaded a miserable 20 overs in the field for Glamorgan, as the Steelbacks set the home side 218 to win.

The visitors showed why they are the team to beat in this year’s competition and Lynn’s innings was the latest instalment in his illustrious franchise cricket career. In a tightly packed Central group and many a Glamorgan game going down to the wire so far, this was perhaps the first time we’ve seen Glamorgan completely outclassed by an opposition, and the gulf became deeper the longer the game went on.
