That was the harsh, yet fair assessment from Leicestershire Head Coach Alphonso Thomas following the most predictable of bore draws in what could’ve been a crucial tie for both sides when looking back in six months’ time.

The reality was that a draw could’ve been pencilled in at Lunch on day two at Sophia Gardens. Mason Crane has been impressive with the bat this season so his 99 wasn’t completely out of the ordinary but, unfortunately, it is almost voided in its legibility by the nature of the direction of the game.

Despite no Glamorgan centurion, three made scores in the nineties, Kiran Carlson and Sean Dickson were who Crane joined when he agonisingly dropped to his knees for his removal. Leicestershire made batting look easy too. Scoring 586 for 7 before finally pulling the plug after 169 overs (one of which bowled by Carlson in his weathered cap) was quite simply what no one would’ve wanted, except for Jonny Tattersall and Jake Weatherald who made their first hundred of the season, and first ever in the UK respectively.
