It’s been a whirlwind twelve months for Jersey-born batter Asa Tribe who has gone from playing 2nd XI cricket for Glamorgan to now being one of those tipped to be included in a reshuffled England test side this summer.

Speaking ahead of the start of the 2026 County Championship, Tribe reflected on what’s happened over the winter: “It’s all happened very fast.” He began.

“When I look back twelve months ago, I wasn’t getting in the first team for Glamorgan and now people are talking about me playing for England. I’ve had some great opportunities and I’m just trying to take it all in.”

Asked if he was daring to dream about playing for England, Tribe added: “I’ve certainly thought about it. There’s bound to be some changes made in that England squad. I’m not letting it be the core focus. My focus is still where can my game get to and if my game keeps going the way it is then yeah, I could be in that side at the start of June.
