Kiran Carlson was pleased with the way his side finished the season after Glamorgan drew their final match with Essex after a rain affected end to the 2026 season.

The final day draw with Essex confirmed a sixth-place finish in the County Championship for the Welsh side which Carlson said he was “comfortable” with. This season was Glamorgan’s first in the topflight of English domestic cricket since 2005 and securing their status there next season, represents a significant milestone for the club, who were one of the favourites for relegation before the season started.

“At the start of the year we would have bitten your hand off to be in this position. It’s been a season of ups and downs, in the Championship especially.” Carlson reflected.
